Tallinn Switched Off the Lights

It happened this morning at 3.27 and the purpose was to save money - well energy.

It is a first step but this kind of decision should be implemented in a clever way. For example a comment on BBN claims that the lights were switched off close to a school were pupils get off a bus...

Let's see what happens next but saving energy should be a great concern; not only in Estonia but particularly here since there is a real lag compared to western Europe.

Education in terms of "saving" in general is highly needed: water, electricity, recycling, use of public transport... the "saving sparkle" is not in the minds and a wide awareness programme in schools, for instance included in a citizenship class, would be a huge step.
