Dalia Grybauskaite, new Lithuanian President

The Central Electoral Commission (VRK) is finishing calculating the results of the presidential elections that took place on Tuesday. According to preliminary data, European Commissioner Dalia Grybauskaite, who has won the presidential post, was supported by 68.2% of all voters

MP Algirdas Butkevicius, leader of the Social Democratic Party, is the second with 11.74% of votes. MP Valentinas Mazuronis, deputy chairman of the political party Order and Justice, captured the third place with the support of 6.12% of all voters, informs ELTA.

According to preliminary data, MP Valdemaras Tomasevskis, leader of the Polish Election Action, came fourth with 4.58% of votes.

He is followed by Kazimira Prunskiene, honorary chairwoman of the National Farmers' Union, with 3.83% and Labor Party deputy chairwoman Loreta Grauziniene with 3.6%. Reserve brigade general Ceslovas Jezerskas collected 0.66% of votes.

On Monday midday, VRK chairman Zenonas Vaigauskas will announce more accurate preliminary results of the presidential elections. The VRK is to announce the final results of the presidential elections in a week.
