Retail sales and industrial ouptut in Estonia in May continued to contract.
Wednesday, the Statistics Estonia said in a report that the retail sales in retail trade enterprises declined 16% y-o-y to EEK 4.8 billion in May, compared to the 15% fall in the previous month.
Retail sales for the stores selling manufactured goods dipped 23% on an annual basis, while the stores selling textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods sales also fell 23%.
Industrial output dropped a working day adjusted 30% year-on-year in May, after falling 33.7% in April.
During the month, manufacturing output dipped 31.6% annually, while mining output fell 5.7%. Energy production was down 18.3%.
