Hamilton "the cheater" is punished!

The Belgian GP was maybe the most interesting of the year. The rain coming at the end of the race greatly helped and changed the whole ranking. Raikkonen was leading by 2 seconds, followed by Hamilton, Massa (+5 sec), Alonso, Bourdais, Vettel, Heidfeild and the others...

With the rain, Hamilton got closer and tried a desperate attempt in the last chicane on the outside. Raikkonen was inside on the right trajectory and obviously did not want to leave the door open. Hamilton had to cut the chicane and let Kimi take his 1st position back. Well he did not really let him and stayed in his wings to overtake him on the first corner. There was afterwards a great fight, with drivers going out of the track but coming back, another car in the middle of the road almost crashed both of them, Raikkonen then spun, Hamilton got the 1st position back and definitely when Kimi crashed at the end of the lap.
Everybody though Hamilton had won the race but an inquiry was opened at the end of the GP about the fight between him and Raikkonen. The FIA assessed that he profited from his position after cutting the chicane to pass Kimi which is to me the right decision. He tried, he did not manage, he cut the chicane. Then he had to CLEARLY let Kimi get his position again, which he did not do. Is Hamilton a cheater? He probably did not do that intentionnally but many people will say it is the second time...

That is actually good news for the championship and the suspense as Massa is only 2 points behind Hamilton, with respectively 76 and 74 points. Third is now Kubica with 58 points, 1 point ahead of Raikkonen whose hopes for the championship are slowly vanishing race after race. Next GP will be in Monza next weekend.

Hamilton "le tricheur" a été puni!

Cette course a probablement été la plus folle de l'année avec l'arrivée de la pluie en toute fin de course. Raikkonen qui semblait se diriger tranquilement vers sa 3e victoire cette saison a finalement abandonné.

Son avance sur Hamilton fondait à vue d'oeil dans l'avant dernier tour et Lewis tenta une attaque un peu desespérée dans la dernière chicane, à l'extérieur. Raikkonen gardait l'intérieur et fermait la porte. Hamilton n'avait plus qu'à couper la chicane et passer ireégulièrement devant le Finlandais. Il devait le laisser repasser clairement, ce qu'il n'a pas fait. Les règles sont simples, et Hamilton n'a pas redonné sa première place à Raikkonen de façon nette puisqu'il s'est immédiatement replacé dans sa boîte de vitesse. Il a donc acquis un avantage en coupant la chicane et c'est cela que les commissaires ont sanctionné. Trulli, Bourdais, Alonso et bien d'autres pilotes considèrent la sanction, certes dure, mais juste.
